X rays
CT scan
MRI
Blood & tests can be performed to determine other conditions impacting the spine and rule out other diseases. Joint fluid tests can also be conducted to evaluate the symptoms.
Surgery & Treatment
Once the diagnosis is available and causes identified, treatment can be suggested. Medications help when self care treatment doesn't work. Pain killers, anti inflammatories, antidepressants might be prescribed. Do not take any medication without doctor consultation. Physical therapy will be suggested if the pain subsides with medications. For severe cases, steroid medication can be injected but these have side effects and limited usage.
